Position Summary:
The Burgers@ Restaurant Manager is responsible for creating a culture that reflects the company’s values. You will play a multi-faceted role, positioned as part of the management team but also hands on with managing daily operations, including recruiting, training, coaching and performance management of all staff members. We are looking for an experienced restaurant professional with an attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and outstanding interpersonal skills. As part of the management team, you will be responsible for providing outstanding leadership to your team. In addition, the assistant manager oversees the inventory and ordering of all food and supplies, optimizes profits and ensures the guests are satisfied with their dining experience. Our assistant manager must maintain high standards of restaurant cleanliness, sanitation, food quality and facility management.
Primary Responsibilities include:
FINANCIAL
Adherence to company standards and service levels to increase sales
Responsible for ensuring that all financial duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures
Perform payroll audits to ensure that all payroll data is scrubbed and submitted correctly and on time for payroll processing
Organize and input invoices and receipts
Oversee and enforce adherence to established processes and procedures designed to minimize waste, spoilage and loss
FOOD SAFETY & PLANNING
Must be ServSafe certified and uphold all ServSafe guidelines
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, and complying with health and legal regulations
Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality food preparation and service
Maintain accurate inventory and control cost of goods
Maintain up-to-date contact list of contractors and vendors
Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste
Estimate food needs, placing and expediting orders with distributors and vendors, and schedule deliveries of food and supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies
Assist with planning special events, holiday and marketing promotions by ensuring we are staffed accordingly and have enough product in inventory
GUEST SERVICE
Ensure positive guest service in all areas of the restaurant
Respond to complaints and inquiries (in-person, online, email, or phone)
Maintain a calendar for guest reservations and special events, and serve as a the main point of contact
Obtain customer feedback and encourage customers to leave Google and Yelp reviews
Take any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
OPERATIONS
Effectively open (and close) the restaurant
Ensure a safe working environment for employees and guests to reduce the risk of injury and accidents, and completes accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured
Ensure the POS system and online ordering is up-to-date at all times based on the availability of inventory items
Manage shifts which include: daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service
Generate reports as needed or when requested by senior management
Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, evaluating new equipment and techniques
Ensure the successful planning, practice and launch of all new products
PERSONNEL
Provide outstanding leadership and guidance to all staff to create a positive working experience
Oversee the recruiting process, respond to incoming job applications in a timely manner, schedule and conduct job interviews, evaluate the status of each job applicant, write offer letters and obtain electronic signature from new hires
Successfully “on-board” new hires by ensuring that employees complete all required HR paperwork, online training activities, have been added to internal systems (Toast Payroll, Toast POS and Sling), and are in compliance with uniform requirements such as slip-resistant shoes
Provide on-the-job training to ensure new employees are thoroughly trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of service
Appraise employee performance according to our 90-Day Performance Review plan
Provide ongoing training and support to employees by daily education of cultural and technical aspects of the job
Conduct frequent team meetings and huddles with the purpose of creating a forum for employees’ voices to be heard as well as an opportunity to keep the team on the same page
Organize and maintain employee files with confidentiality
Communicate job expectations, planning, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback and establishing performance expectations
Ensure the restaurant is fully staffed for all shifts by preparing employee work schedules and posting the schedule a minimum of one week in advance
Develop Team Members/Cooks to become Team Leads and Team Leads to become Assistant Managers
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintains compliance with all state, local and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures; performs loss prevention audits to ensure all laws are being followed

Expected Qualifications:
Must be ServSafe certified
Strong leadership, guest service, communication and conflict resolution skills
High degree of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and internet search engines
Basic math and accounting skills
Data entry experience
Good personal grooming
Comfortable with routinely shifting demands and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Working knowledge of general office equipment
Ability to produce well thought-out, professional correspondence free of grammatical and spelling errors
Highly comfortable with operating a computerized POS system
Ability to stand for 8 hours
Ability to lift 35-50 pounds
Ability to use motion that entails pushing, pulling, stretching and continuous bilateral use of fingers and wrists
Education:
Bachelor’s (preferred) or equivalent work experience (at least 3 years)
Experience:
At least 2 years of supervisory/management experience
At least 2 years of restaurant operations experience
At least 2 years of clerical, secretarial, or office experience
